Sanity Check is an AI-powered idea critique service. You submit an idea — a business concept, project plan, life decision, or any other notion — and receive a structured critique generated by Claude, an AI built by Anthropic. Critiques are delivered with directness and wit, structured as a consultancy-style assessment with sections covering feasibility, risks, strengths, and a verdict.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you should have your parent or guardian review these Terms.

3. Account Registration

You must create an account to use the App. You may register with an email address and password, or using Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for:

• Keeping your account credentials secure
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access

4. Subscriptions and Billing

Auto-Renewal

Sanity Check Pro is a monthly auto-renewing subscription at $4.99/month. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at the time of purchase. Your subscription automatically renews each month unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

Managing Your Subscription

You can cancel auto-renewal or manage your subscription at any time through your Apple ID Account Settings (Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain Pro access until that date.

Restoring Purchases

If you reinstall the App or use a new device, you can restore your Pro subscription using the "Restore Purchases" button in the App. Your subscription is tied to your Apple ID.

Refunds

Subscriptions are managed by Apple and are subject to Apple's refund policies. To request a refund, contact Apple support directly.

5. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Critiques generated by Sanity Check are produced by Claude, an AI built by Anthropic. Please understand:

• Critiques are AI-generated entertainment and analysis, not professional advice. They do not constitute legal, financial, medical, or business consulting.
• The App and Joe Raymond are not responsible for any decisions you make based on critique content.
• AI outputs may contain errors, inaccuracies, or responses that miss important context specific to your situation.
• Always consult qualified professionals before making significant life, business, or financial decisions.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes. You must not:

• Submit content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, or defamatory
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits, access controls, or authentication systems
• Use the App to generate content that violates the rights of others
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or abuse the underlying AI service
• Submit content containing personal information of third parties without their consent

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these requirements.

7. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from within the App (Account settings). Upon deletion:

• Your account is immediately deactivated and you are signed out
• Your data (profile, critiques, usage history) is soft-deleted immediately and permanently purged after 30 days
• Subscription management (canceling auto-renewal) must be done separately through Apple ID settings

8. Intellectual Property

The App, its design, and branding are owned by Joe Raymond. You retain ownership of the idea content you submit. By submitting ideas, you grant us a limited license to process that content through our service (including sending it to Anthropic's API) for the purpose of generating your critique.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY SPECIFIC AI RESPONSE QUALITY IS GUARANTEED.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, JOE RAYMOND SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE APP OR ANY AI-GENERATED CONTENT, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the courts of Washington State.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
